Cookie Policy
Last updated October 4, 2026 · version 2026-10-04
The Service sets only the cookies it needs to work. It does not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie banner to accept and nothing to switch off.
Cookies we set
- chai_session (cookie, up to 30 days): keeps you signed in. It holds a random identifier, is not readable by scripts on the page, and is sent only to the Service. It is removed when you sign out.
- chai_admin_session (cookie, 12 hours): set only when an operator signs in to the management console. Visitors and ordinary accounts never receive it.
Settings kept in your browser
The Service also keeps a few preferences in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device and are not sent to us:
- character-hub-theme: whether you chose light or dark mode.
- character-hub-sidebar: whether the side menu is collapsed.
- chai.chats_started: a counter on your device that decides when to suggest creating an account.
- Open or closed state of side panels in a conversation.
Controlling them
You can delete cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings. Deleting the session cookie signs you out. Blocking it means you cannot sign in, because the Service has no other way to keep you signed in.
If we ever add a cookie that is not essential, we will ask for your consent first and list it here.
