Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions people ask most.

Who can use the Service?

Anyone aged 18 or over. You confirm your age when you sign up.

Are the characters real people?

No. Every character is an AI. What it says is generated, can be wrong, and is not advice from a real person.

Who can read my chats?

Only your account. A character is public if its creator publishes it, but each person's conversation with it is private to that person. Content may be screened automatically for safety, and reports are reviewed by people.

What does a character remember?

A character keeps short memories of what matters in a conversation so it stays consistent. You can see, edit and delete those memories at any time, and deleting a chat deletes its memories.

How do I publish a character?

Create a character, choose Publish, and it appears for everyone. You can unpublish it at any time. Published characters follow the Community Guidelines.

What do credits and plans do?

Some features, such as images and voice, use credits. Paid plans include more of them and extra features. Prices are shown before you pay and you can cancel a plan at any time.

How do I delete my account or download my data?

Both are in your account settings. You can request a copy of your data as a file, and you can close your account. Closing starts a grace period during which signing in cancels it, and after that your data is deleted. The Privacy Policy has the details.

How do I report something?

Use the Report option next to a character, comment or message. Reports are reviewed by people, and the most serious ones are looked at first.

Which cookies do you use?

Only the ones needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. There is nothing for advertising or tracking. The list is in the Cookie Policy.

How can I get in touch?
